This is the big one.
Yesterday I posted a survey, and received 8 responses. Of those responses, all respondents answered they are born-again Christians. If that’s you, you’ll know what I’m talking about here.
If that’s not you, I pray that some day you will be gifted with this understanding!
Before I can be thankful for most of the things I have mentioned it the past 26 days (aside from mercy and grace, etc,) I must be thankful for my savior, Jesus Christ.
Before June 2010, I was a sinner on my way to hell. That’s where God stepped in.
I didn’t grow up in a loving home. I was sick constantly. My sisters and I were verbally and emotionally abused. I often thought,
wow. I hate this, and this is what my life will always be like.
Then I met the people who led me to the Lord (my husband was the first.) I started attending church and following along in a Bible. I remember thinking,
wait, that’s actually in there?!
Sure enough, salvation. I had never heard that word before, in that context. I always thought a person made a decision for God, in order to go to heaven.
In June 2010, God saved my worthless soul. I had felt pretty crummy leading up to that day. He was working on me!
If you haven’t never heard of salvation, or just don’t know the Lord, here are some verses to get you started.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
